Email login now supports Magic Link: click once and you're in, no verification code

For many products, "email login" is the first step a user takes. But you may have noticed: after entering their email, users wait a few seconds for the message, open it, copy the 6-digit code, switch back, paste and submit — a problem at any step of that chain can make people give up.

CloudBase email login now adds a Magic Link mode: after entering their email, the user receives a login link in the message and just clicks it to sign in — no more typing a 6-digit code.

What this change gives you​

• Three fewer steps in the login flow: no more "read code → copy → switch back → paste"
• Works on the hosted login page out of the box: once enabled, the email login area automatically shows a "Send login link" button
• Configurable redirect: after the user clicks the link and passes verification, they're redirected to the page you specify (order page, dashboard, etc.)
• Switch between modes on demand: products that keep the email code flow are unaffected — adjust per business need

How to get started​

1. CloudBase console → Authentication → Sign-in methods → Email login
2. Select Magic Link mode (or keep the code mode)
3. To customize the redirect, pass email_redirect_to when sending the verification request

How to call it​

In Magic Link mode, pass the email_redirect_to parameter when sending the email verification request:

When email_redirect_to is omitted, it automatically falls back to the code mode:

The redirect URL must be a full URL and can only be a CloudBase default domain or a configured custom domain (to avoid redirect failures after the user clicks the link).

• Magic Link supports email login
• Default validity is 600 seconds; it expires once used
• Both the hosted login page and custom SMTP are supported, and both modes work
